MAD Youth Summit 2020
15th February 2020 saw a sea of youths go absolutely MAD in the most exciting gathering of game-changers in Malaysia with support from goverment, corporations and social enteprises.
This annual event saw the participation of youths from Malaysian public and private schools battling it out to win funding and prize monies for great pitchout ideas and projects that had successfully made a difference to the community.
The MAD Youth Summit 2020 had the honour of having YB Hannah Yeoh - Deputy Minister, Women, Family, and Community Development plus great speakers from Microsoft, UNICEF, HRDF, Star Media Group and other organizations sharing their journeys and advice. Here’s MADYS 2020 program.
Here’s what some of our sponsors and speakers said about MAD Youth Summit 2020
"In line with the SDG 17 laid down by the United Nations, Microsoft is committed to empowering sustainable development for everyone and ensuring everyone has access to the benefits technology provides and the opportunities it creates. We believe in the power of education as a tool to drive change. The M.A.D. Youth Summit plays an important role in bringing together public and private organisations on a single platform to provide our nation’s youth with an opportunity to learn what they can do to make a difference to the future of Malaysia, and the world as a whole."
K. Raman, Managing Director, Microsoft Malaysia
"Both government agencies and companies must to take an active role in supporting initiatives such as the M.A.D Youth Summit as it requires a collective effort to nurture our Malaysian youth."
Elanjelian Venugopal, CEO Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF)
"Times like this I feel so blessed to do what I do. I spent a whole day with an amazing group of people at this Summit."
Zhariff Afandi, UNICEF Malaysia

The 21 M.A.D. Days Challenge was a three-week experience that started on 16th February 2020, involving people from all over the world doing good and making a difference for 21 days.
From 16th February to 7th March 2020, each person was given a daily challenge to complete. There were 21 challenges, one for each day.
Particpants photographed/filmed themselves completing the challenges and then shared their accomplishments with everyone on their social media platforms - ranging from Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Tik Tok, Snapchat, etc.
We chose 21 days as science had demonstrated that 21 days is the minimum length of time needed for someone to develop a new habit. The idea was that by the time our string of challenges were over, participants all over the world would have developed the habit of doing good and helping make the world a better place, and would continue to do it on their own. A world where many small actions contribute to make a huge difference in the world.
